Godwin Emefiele, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), wrotes to the House Of Reps that he is sick
Recently, there was an invitation by members of the House of Representatives to defend the proposed cash withdrawal limit policy which is expected to kickstart on January 9, 2023, but he failed to honour this invitation. And that is when this was disclosed
Before this news came up, Godwin Emefiele was grilled by the House Of Rebs on a policy which among others, restricted cash withdrawals from ATM Machines to N100, 000 and N500, 000 weekly for individuals and corporate organizations. But Godwin Emefiele failed to come before the lawmakers. He was also billed to show up, but he ignored.
On the news, it simply means that Aisha Ahmad, the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank Of Nigeria (CBN) will represent Emefiele. On Thursday, Ahmad will now stand in for Emefiele.
